Elizabeth Lambert is a junior defender for the New Mexico  soccer team and in most situations you would never know the name of a college soccer player – male or female.  However, Lambert is now an Internet sensation because of her overly aggressive play that included elbows, kicks, and a ponytail takedown of BYU’s Kassidy Shumway that sent her flying to he ground. Amazingly she was only given one yellow card as most of her infractions were missed by every official on the field.  BYU won the semifinal game 1-0 and New Mexico has suspended Lambert for the rest of the tournament.  It is unfortunate that she is getting such attention for this as all comments from her team and coaches paint her as a sold fair player.
